Everyone is encouraged to live as they would in their own home and we will provide whatever assistance is needed.
As part of your admission, you will have your own key worker appointed to you. This person will pay close attention to your individual needs and wishes, whilst also acting as a support and a friend.
Wellbeing
For the benefit of those residents who have the use of a hearing aid, at least one of the lounge areas has been equipped with a discreet device – known as a hearing loop – that amplifies sound directly to the aid. This gives much clearer sound reception from a television or radio.
When necessary, the Home is more than happy to provide equipment on your behalf for your assessed care and mobility needs. For example, we can supply walking frames, wheelchairs, walking sticks, pressure mattresses and cushions.
If you are assessed as being at risk of falls, you can be supplied with a neck pendant.
Moving and Handling
The Home is equipped with a range of hoists and other apparatus that enable us to safely move residents who require assistance with their mobility.
Your moving and handling needs will be assessed and agreed with you during your admission. They will also be reviewed regularly.
Call System
A call system is provided in all areas of the Home. It is clearly identified and easy to use. Pushing the call button will notify staff that you require assistance. There is a separate button to be pressed in the event of an emergency.
Meals
Meals are provided by our excellent in-house chefs, who will offer a varied and well-balanced diet.
The kitchens are kosher, in accordance with the rules of Kashrut. The main kitchen, which prepares and serves meals for residents and staff, has separate milk and meat equipment for the appropriate meals.
For many people, mealtimes are a focal point of the day. Our staff will ensure you enjoy a wholesome, nutritious meal in a comfortable, social setting.
Meals will be served to you in the dining room, but can also be served in your own room if you wish.
We offer a choice of dishes on our menu, but if none of these are acceptable to you, you may request other meals. Every effort will be made to meet your requests.
Residents are encouraged to invite family and friends to join them for meals during the week and for Shabbat and festivals.
