Volunteering

Life at Morris Feinmann Home is enriched not only by the dedication of our staff, but also by our enthusiastic and energetic volunteers. Volunteers can help in a variety of ways, from simply sitting and befriending residents, to helping out with financial tasks.

Both our board of trustees and social committee are made up solely of volunteers. The board of trustees and its committees work with the care and management staff and the social committee works closely with our activities team.

The management team of the Home is tirelessly supported by its trustees and a number of committees. Our volunteers offer advice and expertise in finance, care, hotel services, legal matters, estates and human resources. If you would like to assist us in any of these areas, please contact Alan Wilkins, chair of trustees.
The social committee, headed by Ann Samuels, works with the Home’s full-time activities co-ordinator, organising many interesting outings to theatres, concerts and galleries. The committee also holds fundraising events to buy extra equipment for the residents’ enjoyment and to enhance activities. If you would like to help by making a regular commitment to our social activities, please contact Maria Turner, acivities co-ordinator.

How to volunteer

Volunteers are welcome to join our social committee to improve and enrich the quality of life for the residents.

Any social activities for – and during – religious festivals are organised for our residents and their families by volunteers.

All our volunteers are CRB checked and are given a ‘volunteer handbook’ that contains our policies and guidelines. They are also expected to attend training sessions in moving and handling our residents.

If you wish to become a volunteer or help with any of our activities, please contact Ann Samuels, chair of the social committee.
